swm-simyager

My modules for StumpWM.

Installation

If you already cloned to your module directory, nothing else is needed.

Otherwise, you can use the script (which just copies the repo to your module directory). Requires stumpish from stumpwm-contrib.

  sh install.sh

Overview

There are many modules similar to stumpwm-contrib modules. There are a couple of reasons why. I might've wrote it before I actually saw that contrib exists, there might be differences (simplifications or additions) and rarely, they might contain fixes to those modules. Read the code and stick to what works for you.

The design goal of (some) modules is to be as flexible as possible and don't commit to specific programs while also defining defaults that make sense. The modules define what happens, not how. That way, users can configure according to their own environment.

All asdf systems are prefixed with sim- to not cause any clashes with other modules. Though some command names might overwrite the commands of other modes.

Modules

sim-emacs

2 self explanatory commands.

emacs-daemon
Starts emacs daemon.
emacsclient
Creates new frame with emacsclient.

sim-slynk

Server will start on port 4005 (default port of slynk) upon loading the module, so don't load it in your config, just when you actually need to connect to StumpWM. After loading, you can M-x sly-connect in emacs to talk to StumpWM.

slynk-start
Starts a slynk server in StumpWM.
slynk-stop
Stops the server.
slynk-port
Shows a message of slynk port.

sim-audio

Calls amixer. It might be better to use one of the media modules in stumpwm-contrib.

audio-toggle
Mutes and unmutes audio.
audio-up
Increase volume.
audio-down
Decrease volume.

sim-wallpaper
